Video Installation - 'Its All a Sculpture'

11/2010, photocopy from my notebook

*I have sent this film with my application form in the form of a DVD. I hope you receive this so you can expeirience the film properly.*

This film plays with the idea of what we consider to be Sculpture in Modern Art and what we consider to be art itself. It also creates a personal connection between the artist, the artist’s work, the medium (the camera) and the audience. It is inspired by a previous film I made called 'This is a sculpture'. It carries on the same idea and feel but this time adding a soundtrack I think fits quite effectively. The film is not scripted and is spontaneous. The visual is slowed down as well coinciding well with the background music. This video questions or merely states that the term sculpture has no absolute definition in our present day and it plays with what we consider to be art in general, also saying that everything is art or could be considered art. This is a positive for me because I feel everyday life is art in its purest form. The film may also bring up the discussion on what we consider an artist to be? This is a film very much concerned with concept and not with technical skill.
